Wohl Rose Garden
One guide book to Jerusalem says about the Wohl Rose Garden: "...where
more than 400 varieties of roses from all over the world can be seen. Walking
through the park we are dazzled by the wealth of colors." True, I could
see the varieties of roses but practically without seeing any fully blossoming
flower! (Apparently, the local roses don't consider the local winter with
+20C as a suitable season to blossom.) So I had to imagine myself the roses.
But, truly, the garden is very beautiful even without any imagination.
It is divided into small section, each being prepared by some country or
some organizations; the names included Germany, Switzerland, London Royal
Botanic Garden, and much more. Not only they had planted some flowers but
also put some decorative arbours, fountains, benches, etc.
Here are some promised pictures.
| This is "France." |
 |
| This composition was prepared by Japan. On the large black (in reality
it is blue) stone to the left the following is written: "Love is as
vital to Heart as Water to Flower". |
 |
| And that's where the water from the above Japanese waterfall comes.
...Strange: a plenty of water but no flowers---the theory of black (blue)
stone isn't experimentally supported! |
 |
Below are a few photos from unidentified countries. Try to guess yourself!
In this fountain(?) water "bubbles out" at the top and then finds its
way around, around, and once more around the stone! |
 |
| No, no, don't be scared---the four things to the right are not
flowers! In the background you can see Knesset (the parliament) built in
1966. A few reds spots in the flower bed are real roses. (Not speckles
added later with MS PaintBrush.) |
